The Sanford Center for Aging Senior Outreach Services (SOS) is a volunteer program that assists vulnerable seniors in our community to live independently with some assistance. Volunteers help these seniors with small day to day activities such as getting to the grocery store, picking up prescriptions, going to a doctors appointment or just a friendly visit. By offering companionship and support, SOS can make a difference in the lives of the Seniors in our community.
The two main requirements for the volunteer program include:
- Committing to at least two hours every week for at least a year
- You must have transportation with a current driver’s license and auto insurance
If you have a big heart and an interest in making a difference in the life of a senior please call the SOS Director, Sina Ward, at 775-784-7506 or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org@unr.edu
For more information on the SOS program, pick up a pamphlet in the vestibule of the church or visit their website: https://med.unr.edu/aging
