FATHER NATHAN MAMO, S.T.L.
Fr. Nathan Mamo was ordained in 1978 for the Diocese of Honolulu, Hawaii, where he served for 21 years in various parishes, including as Rector at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Peace in downtown Honolulu. He studied for the priesthood at St. Patrick Seminary in Menlo Park, CA. He earned a Licentiate in Sacred Theology (STL) in New Testament Studies at the Jesuit School of Theology at Berkeley (JSTB) in 1994. His research was in St. Paul’s idea of decision-making in the Corinthian Church. He departed Hawaii in 1998 and served at three parishes in the Diocese of San Jose before moving to the Diocese of Reno in 2009. He and Sophie have been together since 2010.
My family moved from the East Bay Area of California to Sparks, Nevada in 2001. My background is in Human Resources, but I have been working in office management for 17 years. I managed a veterinary clinic in Sparks for 7 years and I have been employed in the Diocese of Reno since 2009. I joined the staff of Our Lady of Wisdom in September 2014. When I am not at work I enjoy spending time with my family camping, watching movies, baking, and scrapbooking family memories.
My name is Abby and I’m one of the Student Coordinators here at the Newman Center. I’m my Senior year as a Human Development and Family Studies major, with a minor in Addiction Treatment Services. Outside of Newman, I’m either working or I’m home watching Netflix and drinking copious amounts of coffee. If you see me around, feel free to say hi. I look forward to meeting you all!
Hello! My name is Jesus Rodriguez and I’m one of the Student Coordinators here at the Newman Center. My major is really long but if you like to talk philosophy, politics or psychology, I am all ears. If you don’t find me in the Newman Center, I am probably on my way there, watching The Office, or am in Elko, NV with my family. I hope to see you soon! Feel free to say hello anytime.
Hi my name is Ben. I’m a 3rd year Biology major who wants to pursue a career in physical therapy. I enjoy drinking tea, playing the ukulele and spending my time with my friends at the Newman Center.
