Annual Operation Easter Basket Event Provides Gifts for Children in Need

Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada is asking for your help to support Operation Easter Basket! Each year Catholic Charities collects donations to fill Easter baskets for local children who are living in poverty. Sign-ups to register a child to receive a basket from Operation Easter Basket will open on February 7, 2022, and are limited to the first 1,200 registrants.  Parents are encouraged to register online at ccsnn.org .  If they don’t have internet access, they may call (775) 322-7073 extension 250. Please note that children must be pre-registered in order to receive a basket.

This year, Catholic Charities hopes to collect a minimum of 1,200 Easter baskets by Friday, March 25. To donate to Operation Easter Basket, CCNN is asking community members to bring pre-filled Easter baskets for children ages 0 to 18, to St. Vincent’s Thrift Shop located at 500 East Fourth Street in downtown Reno or to St. Vincent’s Super Thrift Store located at 190 E. Glendale Avenue in Sparks. CCNN asks that donors please specify that their donation items are for Operation Easter Basket. Both locations are open Monday through Sunday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. CCNN is also happy to accept donations of empty baskets, candy, toys, cellophane, and ribbon in order to prepare additional baskets. Donations can also be made by visiting the website at ccsnn.org or mailed to:  CCNN, PO Box 5099, Reno, NV 89513 Attn: Operation Easter Basket.  For additional questions regarding Operation Easter Basket, please contact Lisa Ross at lzross@ccsnn.org or call (775) 322-7073 extension 235.
